Business Mentoring
Everyone at some stage in life needs a supporting hand.
There are various ways in which this can be given, teaching, training, consulting and mentoring and so forth. Mentoring is the process which encourages you to define the problem and find a solution. The mentor guides you along this path, but it is you that come up with the answers, not the mentor. Why does this work? Well if you have a problem, but cannot define it, you will not get to the solution. However, with the mentor assisting you to identify the problem and why and how it has come about, then finding a solution will not be as difficult. The mentor is not someone's shoulder to cry on, that won't solve anything; recognition, decision and action is required, and mentor helps you develop these tools.
For you the business owner, mentoring is a journey with supports.
Advising or coaching can give you the answer or 'prompt you' to arrive at an answer. Mentoring is a combination of both a journey, along with support, giving you a greater insight into defining the issues and how you will decide on the right decision to be made. Each business, business owner and business issue is different, so mentoring works on the basis of support for the business, and developing results for the business and it's owner.
